What is in this collection

The pages show a large shamrock, shamrock mandalas, a shamrock in an arched stained glass window, woven interlace borders, a horseshoe with patterned bands, a pot of coins at the end of a rainbow, a tall hat with a buckle, and lettering that says Lucky and Happy St. Patrick's Day. There are no characters or faces, only decorative shapes and patterns.

  • Easy: one large shamrock, horseshoe, pot of gold or hat.
  • Medium: a mandala, stained glass, lettering and a woven border.
  • Detailed: fine patterns, small shamrocks and full lettering.

When is St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is on March 17 every year. In 2027 it falls on a Wednesday.

Paper and tools

Colored pencils work on plain printer paper. For markers, use heavier paper, around 32 lb or 120 gsm. A gold or yellow gel pen is nice for the coins and the buckle.

Palette ideas

Use three or four greens from dark to light, plus gold. For the rainbow and stained glass, add soft blue, violet and orange so the greens stand out.

A slow-coloring tip

On the woven borders, follow one band all the way around the page in a single color, then color the second band. The over and under pattern shows clearly.
