What is in this collection

The pages show nine-branch menorahs with square or round arms, the center candle set higher, and candles banded with patterns. There are dreidels with pattern panels, mandalas with a six-pointed star in the center, an oil jug with a flame between two olive branches, and Happy Hanukkah lettering inside a patterned frame with small candles.

  • Easy: bold lines and large open zones.
  • Medium: patterned arms, dreidel faces and lettering.
  • Detailed: fine rings and patterns for sharp pencils.

Paper and tools

Colored pencils work on standard printer paper. For markers or watercolor pencils, print on heavier paper, around 32 lb or 120 gsm. A white gel pen is useful for small highlights on the candle flames.

Palette ideas

A traditional set uses royal blue, light blue, white and silver. For a warmer page, color the menorah in gold and bronze and keep the flames yellow and orange. The olive branches look good in sage and olive greens.

A slow-coloring tip

On a menorah page, color one candle each evening of the holiday, starting with the center candle. By the last night, the page is complete.
