When is Lunar New Year 2027
Lunar New Year 2027 falls on Saturday, February 6, 2027. It begins the Year of the Goat, also called the Year of the Sheep.
Paper and tools
Colored pencils work on plain printer paper. For markers, use heavier paper, around 32 lb or 120 gsm. A gold gel pen is useful for coins, lantern caps and tassels.
Palette ideas
A traditional set uses red, gold and a little black or deep brown. For a softer page, try coral, peach and pale gold with plum pink blossoms.
A slow-coloring tip
Color the plain zones first in one red, then add gold to the patterned zones. Working in two passes keeps the page calm and even.
